Istituto Pascale, Agreement Reached with Regione

72 hours of storm and immediately after the calm between the Istituto Pascale of Naples and Regione Campania. By April a new agreement to draft the operational guidelines for the enhancement of the quality standard. The agreement has been reached after General Director of Pascale Antonio Pedicini had sent out an SOS, following the measure of Commissioner for Healthcare Mario Morlacco to cut by 16 million € the funds to the Hospital.

The emergency has ended, no cut will be made. As announced by President Stefano Caldoro at the end of a meeting demanded by Regione and attended by Deputy commissioner Morlacco and Head of Cabinet Danilo Del Gaizo, too. Mr Caldoro emphasised: “We continue on guaranteeing excellence and on working to support healthcare dedicated to citizens, in spite of a difficult national context”.

The meeting, as reported in the release issued from Santa Lucia, helped in clarifying some misunderstandings arisen over the last days and to confirm a shared pathway. The commitment to ensure stability for the activity of the IRCCS Pascale Hospital has been confirmed too, in order to further increase the healthcare performances for citizens, as well as research levels.

General Director of the Pascale Hospital Pedicini breathes again: “I am very satisfied with the signs of affection given by the city of Naples towards the Pascale Hospital and the total harmony with President Caldoro about the shared willingness to continue along this road towards a further enhancement of the structure”.
