Land Information System

Regione Campania, with the endorsement of Law 16 December 2004 n. 16, “Laws on Territory Government”, under art. 17 has instituted the Land Information System, that, in compliance with the institutional functions of each Sector, has the task of coordinating the geographical information of the Region and allows all regional operators to use operational instruments of information in short time, in order to address the planning and economical choices considering the peculiarities of the regional territory.

The Land Information System (LIS) permits the acquisition, the updating, the representation and the diffusion of data and information related to the territory.

The LIS, far from being exhaustive in relation to the endless issues concerning the region, tends to especially create uniqueness and agreement of knowledge in order to avoid the dispersion of geographical information produced in Campania by the Authorities that have different competencies on the territory.

The update of the LIS is realised together with local bodies, other public authorities and mainly state-owned research companies, through the conclusion of the memorandum of understanding approved with the Resolution of the Regional Executive Board n. 560/2004. Until now, memoranda of understanding have been concluded with:
