Area Vasta of Giugliano: ISS Analysis on Heavy Metals in Agricultural Production

In the following document the first considerations concerning the occurrence of inorganic micro-pollutants in samples of farming areas and products from the Area Vasta of Giugliano have been reported. A remarkable occurrence of total Chrome and Zinc has been found in the area of San Giuseppiello. Only 2% of the surface has been found damaged and for such area a farming ban has already been requested. From the results obtained, fruit and vegetables are compliant with the sector provisions concerning Cadmium and Lead. As for inorganic micro-pollutants not included in the Regulation 1881/2006, the values found do not depart from the Italian and International literature.
