In Campania the summit on consumers’ associations

In Campania the summit on consumers’ associations

Users and consumers will all stop in Campania. The candidacy proposed by President Caldoro’s councillor, Fulvio Martusciello, has been accepted. The yes was reached at the seat of the Ministry for Economic Development. The thirteenth programmatic session of the National Council of Consumers and Users (CNCU) will take place in the region. “A source of satisfaction and pride”, Martusciello underlines.

But what is, more specifically, the CNCU? It is the representative body of all the associations born for the tutelage of those who buy goods or services. Established by law in 1998 (then merged into a legislative decree, in the Consumer Code), the institution is presided over by the Ministry for the Economic Development or by one of his delegates. It deals with prices, rates, and quality of services, it gives knowledge and stipulates protocols and conventions. All this in the consumers’ and users’ defence.

The acknowledged associations are eighteen, all included in the representative Council, together with a representative of the unified Conference of the Presidents of the Autonomous Regions and Provinces. At the moment, the CNCU is led by Claudio De Vincenti, empowered by the Minister Passera. Honorary Councillor is Anna Bartolini, with a pedigree of consummate communicator in TV talk-shows, every time transparency on prices and rates has been dragged in. The Council’s representative website: www.tuttoconsumatori.org.

The upcoming programmes of CNCU, therefore, will be ratified in Campania. “The proposal – Martusciello underlines again – was born thanks to the attention paid by the Regional Administration to consumers, and to the necessity of putting their issues at the centre of national and regional policies”. The proposal has been accepted by the Regions Conference, putting Campania at the centre of the debate and of the more concrete things to be done for the tutelage of users and consumers.
